Friends Asking Friends Helps Stepping Stones for Women Increase Jog-a-Thon Participation 10 Percent Annually

Stepping Stones for Women is a residential and supportive services program for single mothers and their children so that they can become physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually healthy . . . one step at a time!


Stepping Stones for Women needed to increase its reach and diversify its donor pool

The organization also wanted to do a jog-a-thon event and needed a technology tool to help raise money and encourage participation.

Finally, the public was becoming technology focused and the organization needed to better use technology to reach a broader range of constituents.


Stepping Stones for Women selected Friends Asking Friends to support its jog-a-thon.

As a small organization, Friends Asking Friends would provide Stepping Stones the best return on investment.

Friends Asking Friends is simple to use and provides a way for constituents and supporters to easily raise money and collect donations online.


Event participation has grown 10 percent year-over-year since using Friends Asking Friends.

Virtual participation, those that raise money without walking, comprises approximately 5-10 percent of annual donations.

Of the organization’s 600 donors, approximately 12 percent have been acquired through Friends Asking Friends.

The money raised from the event helped the organization increase its output of services 157 percent, from 70 to 180 service participants.
