The Florida State University Foundation Partners with Blackbaud To Replace Entire Technology System

The Florida State University Foundation, Inc. enhances the academic vision and priorities of FSU through its organized fundraising activities and funds management. The Foundation raises more than $100 million annually, placing it in an elite group of higher education fundraising entities.


With multiple entities and constituencies, the Foundation needed to centralize data and provide an online — and offline — information platform to support its upcoming capital campaign and strategic growth initiatives.


The Foundation set out to find an integrated system that would address the specific needs of the Florida State University Foundation, the Seminole Boosters, the FSU Alumni Association, and The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. The Foundation selected Blackbaud’s integrated solution, including The Raiser’s Edge Enterprise, The Financial Edge, Blackbaud NetCommunity, Blackbaud Direct Marketing, PaperSave®, and business intelligence services, which will enable the Foundation to increase efficiency and achieve a holistic view of constituents. The solution will also help the Foundation optimize advancement, Web site, financial, and operational activities, and establish a comprehensive view of the University’s alumni and supporters by consolidating multiple databases into one system of record.


The Foundation went live with the solution ahead of schedule and under budget. The Foundation instantly improved its reporting through web-based reports. Each of the direct support organizations have collaborated, sharing best practices and improving efficiency as a fundraising and events team. Through its online community, oneFSU, the Florida State University Foundation has created a central place for Boosters, alumni, donors, and museum patrons to learn about what all of the organizations are doing.
